In trial installations, users generally ask us to install two valves on the hydroclone – one valve on the overflow outlet and the other on the underflow outlet. This allows infinite adjustment of the two flows during the trial. Once the optimum flow split is determined, most users substitute orifices for valves before bringing the Hydroclone into routine service. Fixed orifices ensure that operators cannot easily alter the flow conditions incorrectly on a calibrated production system.

Most customers stock spare orifice blanks to replace worn units and to make replacements if process conditions change.
